  Come All You Weary

  I’m prepping for our missional community’s discussion tonight, pondering Matthew 11:28-30.

  “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

  Sometimes I think I end up preaching to myself as much as anybody. This is a message I need to hear. God is seeking to lighten our burdens and between the weights in our life and what feels like more expectations than we know what to do with in being followers of Christ, he also reminds us that his way offers rest.

  I pray God would open my eyes to realize that he isn’t always trying to put me through crap to see how much I can take. God, show me how you are offering me rest for my soul!
